Many of the struggles in our lives are not mere accidents! Many of them are not put there by God. Our challenges often come from the hand of our enemy, Satan. He always prowls about looking for the best scheme to knock us out of our commitment to and relationship with the Lord. Placing ourselves firmly in the hands of the Lord and using his tools of warfare will help us defeat our enemy who has already been humiliated by Jesus and the cross.
Today is St. Patrick’s Day. A day of wearing green, shamrocks, leprechauns, pots of gold and rainbows… or is it? What is the true meaning behind March 17th actually?
According to Wikipedia :”Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick“), is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick ( c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.” It was celebrated by the church in honor of his blessings he showed to the pagan people. Saint Patrick (387-461 AD) was an English (or perhaps Scottish) missionary to Ireland. Scholars agree that he is a historical figure and that he converted many of the pagans on the island to Christianity. According to Christian legend, St. Patrick used the three-leafed(not four-leaf) clover to illustrate the doctrine of the Trinity to his pagan audience in Ireland.
St.Patrick was not lucky to convert those people to Christianity, he was blessed to.
” Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”James 1:17 (NIV)
Have a Blessed St. Patrick’s Day!
Matthew 7:15(NIV) “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.”
Sometimes truth get twisted in this life. Blurred. Manipulated. Lines get crossed. Things once seen as black and white, may start to appear more gray. It may seem harder to recognize what’s true or what’s false. What’s light and what’s dark.
At the heart of the battle we face every day, is a real enemy who prowls around seeking someone to devour.
8 “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”Peter 5:8 New International Version (NIV)
He’ll stop at nothing to gain new ground. He and his forces have quoted God’s words since the beginning of time, twisting it, trying their best to manipulate truth, their main goal only to deceive and lead astray. They know who God is and the Bible says they “shudder” in fear at His name.
19 “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”James 2:19 New International Version (NIV)
They know that God alone will be victorious and no matter what traps are used today to try to distract us away from Him, in the end, they will not win.
Many times the wolf disguised in sheep’s clothing knows God’s Word better than we thought, crafting and twisting it so much, we might even find ourselves feeling confused over what real truth is anymore.
So how can we see through their deception to protect ourselves? Be alert; know what is real; draw on God’s word and not of the things and ways of this world; draw on the wisdom and spirit of the Lord and surround yourself with fellow believers for trust and support.

Today is Sunday and most believers are headed out to worship. What are the reasons for going though? To socialize? To pray for help? To build a stronger relationship with Jesus? Are we being made to go by spouses or parents?
Many times the reasons for attending the church destroy the benefits of being there if the person is not open in their heart to hear and experience the message. In addition, the foundation of the church itself is not for the Lord our savior but for self-gain.
Many people are dying a slow death because their hope lies in the traditions of the church only, and not in JESUS! Have a relationship w/ Him, not a building. Make sure wherever you assemble, that the foundation is Jesus!
What is maturity? It is being able to carry money without spending it; being able to bear an injustice without retaliation; being able to do one’s duty even when one is not watched; being able to keep on the job
until it’s finished; being able to accept criticism without letting it whip you.~Alfred Armand Montapert
With maturity comes opportunity. Opportunity allows us time. So what are we doing with all of our time? There is the same measure of time (minutes, seconds, hours, days) for everyone just not the same amount of time on earth.
This time creates stuff. We can not fool God with the stuff we do. He knows what we are doing at all times with our opportunities. We can not hide anything what’s in our hearts for he knows all and sees all.
And we must not be discouraged from doing good things for doing good pays off if we don’t quit. Our blessings of harvest are promised as stated in Galatians 6:7-10
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
